Seared Bonito and Fresh Tomato Tartare

Yield: 2 Servings (150g)
Yield: 2 Servings (150g)
This unusual bonito tartare sauce is accented with avocado, lemon, and tomato to bring out the vibrance of spring. We recommend eating the tartare sauce and avocado together.
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1
Thaw the avocado according to package directions.
Step 2
Remove the stem of the tomato with a knife and make a thin cross cut from the opposite side of the stem. Boil water in a pot and place the tomatoes in for 10 to 20 seconds. When the skin starts to peel off a little, remove them from the pot and place them in cold water. Peel the skin, remove the seeds, and cut into 3cm cubes.
Step 3
Finely chop the shallots and soak them in water for 20 minutes to remove the sharpness.
Step 4
Dice the bonito into 3cm cubes. Combine half the tomato, bonito, shallot, and diced avocado in a bowl and season.
Step 5
Place avocado half on serving dish, fill with savory filling and garnish with lemon and chopped tomato.
